What is VoIP?
VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, Internet telephony, IP telephony, Voice over Broadband or Broadband telephony means transferring voice converses through the Internet or any IP-network.
Organizations, offering VoIP communication are called providers, as for protocols used to transfer voice conversations through IP network, they are called VoIP or Voice over IP protocols. They can be considered as commercial implementation of pilot Network Voice Protocol, created for ARPANET service providers. Cheaper rates are thanks to using a single network to transfer data and voice, particularly when clients have free network which can transfer VoIP without paying additional fees. Phone calls inside the VoIP network are commonly free, but if you call from VoIP to public telephone number, you are to spend some money.
